3G iPhone in Romania - the phone that could force a person to live with $22/week (cheapest version)

The hit of the year and last year - iPhone.
You should know that there are some countries in the world where 3G iPhone became a real business for big companies that want to make money from stone.
So, let’s take for example Romania, an European country.
There on 22nd of August 2008 the 3G iPhone was launched. At the beginning over 3 000 persons / Orange Shop in each town subscribed for an iPhone.
After the Orange released the types of contract and prices - only 20 or less got one.
There are 2 different types of contract :
Small one : 39 euro - 300 minutes , 100 sms, 1GB traffic, with the 3G iPhone 8Gb at 409 euro for 1-year contract and 249 euros for a 2-year contract.
Big one : 59 euros - 500 minutes, 500 sms, 1,5Gb traffic, and the 3G iPhone 8gb at 369 euros for 1 year contract and 179 euros for 2-year contract.
Now here are the prices (on paper) :
Iphone 3G, 8 GB
- 39 euro x 12 months + TVA Contract 88,92 euro + Iphone 409 euro = 965,92 euro
- 39 euro x 24 months + TVA Contract 177,84 euro + Iphone 249 euro = 1362,84 euro
- 59 euro x 12 months + TVA Contract 134,52 euro + Iphone 369 euro = 1211,52 euro
- 59 euro x 24 months + TVA Contract 269,04 euro + Iphone 179 euro = 1864,04 euro
Iphone 3G, 16 GB
- 39 euro x 12 months + TVA Contract 88,92 euro + Iphone 489 euro = 1045,92 euro
- 39 euro x 24 months + TVA Contract 177,84 euro + Iphone 329 euro = 1442,84 euro
- 59 euro x 12 months + TVA Contract 134,52 euro + Iphone 449 euro = 1291,52 euro
- 59 euro x 24 months + TVA Contract 269,04 euro + Iphone 259 euro = 1944,04 euro

What does this mean to USA citizens ?
Iphone 3G, 8 GB
- $57,3 x 12 months + Iphone $601 = $1429 (some taxes included)
- $57,3 x 24 months + Iphone $366 = $2000 (some taxes included)
- $87 x 12 months + Iphone $542 = $1780 (some taxes included)
- $87 x 24 months + Iphone $264 = $2750 (some taxes included)
Iphone 3G, 16 GB
- $57,3 x 12 months + Iphone $720 = $1536 (some taxes included)
- $57,3 x 24 months + Iphone $484 = $2119 (some taxes included)
- $87 x 12 months + Iphone $660 = $1897 (some taxes included)

Oh please, Steve Jobs just enlighten us about the “the 3G iPhone will be available all over the world for $200″ ???
With contract the cheapest way to acquire the phone is $264 and an almost $90/month 2-year contract with 500min, 500sms, 1,5Gb traffic (although in that country the 3G network is not full developed) ?????
The iPhone is so expensive - makes you think over again… think and go buy a HTC Diamond , LG Viewty or Samsung Omnia if you want a cool touchscreen phone. In our opinion, just wait until someone sues european sellers or go for something else.
3G iPhone is expensive as hell. Just imagine, instead an iPhone you could buy a MacBook Pro and still save money.
Another one - instead of getting a 16Gb 3G iPhone with contract you could buy a second hand car.
And yes, we almost forgot the salary in Romania is 6000 Ron / year = 1714 euros / year = $2500 / year.
The cheapest way to buy the iPhone would be $1430 - and that would remain for Romanians to live with $22/week if they work the whole year.
After you work day-by-day for one year, you have to live with 1000$ and pay for: house, taxes, food, more taxes, drink, bills, car fuel etc…
Could you live for 1 year with $22/week continuos working for an iPhone ???
iPhone 3G is cool, is nice, has cool GPS and 3G connectivity and very expensive. In some places extremely unaffordable.
