Here is another totally unconfirmed RUMOR : Samsung Omnia Pro HD.

Here is the rumored Samsung Omnia Pro HD specifications :

• Windows Mobile 6.1, with upgrade to 6.5 available
• 3.5-inch WVGA touch screen
• AMOLED display
• 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilizer, flash and video
• horizontal slide QWERTY keyboard
• 500 euros price range (around $660)

So, what does Gsm32 team say about it ?

• Windows Mobile 6.1 ? - not really ! Maybe 6.5 Pro.
• Full Sliding QWERTY - YES a true copy from HTC Touch and HTC Touch Pro
• 3.5″inch WVGA touch-screen AMOLED? - MAYBE…
• 5Mp AF, IS and flash ? - not really ! A 8Mp would be more apropiate
• they don’t say anything about : HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 maybe, 8Gb internal memory and so on…

Sharp + AU KDDI = something solar powered

In JAPAN (you got it right the first time) Sharp and KDDI are planning to launch a new solar powered waterproof cell phone.
The whole body is one big solar panel which should charge your phone continuously. They also advertise that 10min under the sun = 2 hours of standby = 1 min of talk time.
The sun can charge the battery up to 80% from solar panel alone.
The release month is June.

Designer Sebastian Muller must be proud of his work.
But if the screen has 8.9″ inch touchscreen how big is this concept anyway ?
We live in a world where everything tends to get smaller and smaller.
People don’t have time anymore, we are always on the move, always rushing somewhere, always doing something.
I can’t remember when I just stood still and admire a tree or grass. I don’t have time not even to eat something healthy.
Oh well, surely looks nice.

NIO the bluetooth gadget guard

OK, us GSM32 have a few questions for the NIO manufacturer..

Q1 : Bluetooth on all the time ? Did you knew that your battery drains quicker if you have your Bluetooth connection always on ?
Nokia N95 8Gb is completely energy dry if you use it with the WiFi on for 3 hours. What happens if you forget to switch WiFi Off ?
“yay I won’t forget my phone in a cab, but wait, I’m out of battery, CRAP”

Q2 : You have to install security apps on your handset too.. Does NIO offer these apps for : Symbian S40, Symbian S60, Symbian S603rd, WM5.0, WM6.0 , WM 6.1, Palm ETC ?

Q3 : How about my notebook, do I have to leave it on for this to work ? A normal notebook battery keeps it on for 2 hours.. Some of us spend more than 2 hours only in traffic.

Q4 : Do you make apps for my notebook ? Mac OS X, Mac OS 8, Mac OS 9, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux ….. ETC ?

Q5 : If I have my phone and my NIO in my bag/purse/handbag/suitcase - if someone steals it, what is good NIO for ?

Oh…another gadget, for some useful , for some less useful. But one thing is sure, it would make a good keys/phone finder in the house .
