Remember when we said that Mozilla is working at a new mobile browser ?
Is finally out : Fennec Alpha 2

Fennec improvements :

  • Improved panning performance
  • Newly designed theme
  • JavaScript error console is now built in
  • Improved add-on support
  • Numerous bug fixes
  • Improved UI polish - tweaked

Fennec browser requires Windows Mobile 6.x ONLY.

Fennec is the name of the build of the Mozilla Firefox web browser for smaller non-PC devices, mobile phone devices and PDAs.

While Fennec is based on Firefox, the user interface is completely redesigned and introduces a number of new paradigms. It uses touchscreen interaction methods (or the cursor keys, for non-touchscreen handsets) in place of dragging actions with a mouse. Some of the add-ons and plug-ins available for Mozilla Firefox are available for Fennec.

Sneak Peek at Parachute Panic for iPhone/iPod touch. This is an early alpha build running on an iPhone! Some SoundFX and the title screen is not final yet. The game should appear at the end of this month or beginning of June on the App Store!

Opera for Symbian S60

Opera for Symbian S60

According to Symbian Freak, Opera is trying to bring a new browser for Symbian S60.
Latest Opera Browser for Symbian and Windows Mobile was 9.5 .
Now there is 9.7 version that will bring better, faster and more intuitive browsing to devices like Nokia 5800 hopefully.

Don’t confuse Opera Mini which is Java-based little app.

The Opera 9.7 should incorporate Opera Turbo compression which runs web pages through a proxy server that renders the pages for your mobile phone. This way everything loads much much faster than traditional way.

Opera 9.7 will also use the Presto 2.2 rendering engine like Opera 10 desktop browser which scored 100% Acid 3 test.

Anyway.. What happened to Opera 9.6 ?
